Dr. Mindy's Tips:
  • Of the 206 bones in the adult human body – How many are in one human adult foot?

  • Seven tarsal bones: talus, calcaneus, cuniforms I, II, & III, cuboid, and navicular.
Five metatarsals I-IV,The great toe has two phalanges,
The other four toes have three each (twelve).
So that's 7+5+2+12=26 total bones in the foot.
BUT!!! If you guessed 28 you are still correct.
(You must have included the sesamoid bones at the base of the big toe)

  • 52 (or 56) bones in both feet combined!
That’s just 25% of ALL the bones in your entire body. No wonder foot care is so important!
